What is Conversion Language | Sold Out Sales Podcast with Tish Times S02EP12
On this episode of Sold Out Sales, Tish Times shares information about Conversion Language. Sometimes it's not about what you're saying, it's how you're saying it.
Language is a Locator
- You collect what your language says, if you say “are you struggling?” in your messaging, you’re going to get people who are struggling
- Be careful with the words you use in your sales copy, words are very powerful
Be Intentional
- What is the purpose for what you’re doing, having a clear purpose can help you be more intentional with your words
- Just sprinkling in conversion language when talking or posting can be impactful when it’s done with intention
Don’t Forget Your Call to Action
- It can be so exciting to tell people about your business that you’re passionate about, but don’t leave them hanging. Let them know exactly how they can get in touch with you and work with you
- Make sure your call to action is Clear, Concise and Compelling
- Make it easy for people to say yes to you, make sure your CTA is easily accessible (example: if you give people a paper form to fill out, make sure you give them pens too)
- A CTA is important because there are so many distractions in your potential clients daily life, you need to be the one that reaches out.
Examine Your Customer Journey
- Make your buying process easy, if it’s not easy, the average person is not going to be willing to jump through those hoops to buy from you
- Have someone you trust go through your customer journey to see if there’s any issues with it or see if there’s anything that could be improved
- Don’t make proposals or offer letters too long, get to the point.
- Consider going through the proposal in person or over a video call so you can go through the proposal with the client and answer any questions they may have, this can make a longer proposal a lot less intimidating for the client
Who is Your Target Audience?
- Consider your target audience when deciding on language, we tend to do what we think would would on us and that’s not always the best thing to do
- Make client “avatars” for your different ideal clients and learn how to best market to them
Listen to Your Clients
- Pay attention to the people that you say you care about, they can tell from your language whether or not you did your research
- Survey some of your current clients to see what they’re looking for and what kind of conversion language would work well to get new clients
- Record your sales calls, because in those calls, your potential clients are telling you exactly what they want and what language you should be using. Use those calls to form your marketing language
- Find the overlap of what your clients want and what’s authentic to you
